I have eaten at high-end restaurants around the world, but who would have thought a little restaurant in Kemah would crack my top ten. Inventive, delicious and unexpected, Eculent is fantastic. The service and experience were over the top. I’m already planning my next visit.

Wow what an experience! This was definitely one of the best memories I'll ever have. From the very second you walk in your senses are invited with so many wonderful smells and colors. Every course was as delicious as it was beautiful. The owner did not leave a single detail out, the lighting, artwork, and even the scent of the room changes with each plate you are served. My fiance has extensive experience in the culinary industry but no encounter holds a candle to what is experienced at Eculent...I am still astounded by the way Chefs David and Stacy kept us on edge with every course. I have never witnessed such a fusion of cuisine, gastronomy, chemistry, and true art that awakened every possible sense in, literally, every bite. It's obvious that David Skinner's creation of eculent was not meant to be one's typical idea of dining at a restaurant, especially as he introduces each dish with such knowledge and passion. Every single aspect from the presentation to tasting, to simply being in the presence of someone so great, was truly an experience we will never forget!

Best dining experience ever! The food was too beautiful to eat, and it was all delicious too! It started with a tour of the food lab - pure genius - mixing high quality organic foods (home grown!) with science! The result is a magical, whimsical, and entertaining evening of amazing food flavors. The chef, Mr. Skinner, is a wonderful host. He serves, entertains, and explains all the dishes. We had over 25 amazing, fun and scrumptious courses! My personal favorite is the Pig in the Cloud! The entire staff is amazing and accommodating. I look forward to returning soon.

Me and my husband went for our 11th Anniversary, and it was the best place I have ever been to in my life. The food was amazing, the atmosphere out of this world. Eculent is not truly describable in words but I’ll try briefly. One must visit to truly understand. I read about it and watched videos (don’t do this, just go so it’s all surprise), but it exceeded all my expectations. David is great, funny, and super informative. He explains everything prior to you indulging. The tour of the lab is super cool. It’s not the cheapest meal, but go... treat yourself and partner to a date nite, anniversary, take good friends or family out.. you only live once, and you don’t want to live without dining here.

We have had fantastic multi course Michelin stared meals all over the world, Eculent ranks right at the top for creative, atmosphere, and flavor. Kudos to the chef for being, well the chef, the matrie’d, the sommelier, the server, the tour guide (of an awesome on site food lab), and the bus boy, all while keeping the courses moving along and good conversation about each and every bite. We loved this intimacy with the food ‘artist’ himself. Go to Eculent ASAP, tables sell out within minutes of becoming available!

Creative exciting cuisine. My husband and I had dinner there Thursday night. It was spectacular. Neither of us had tried a molecular gastronomy dinner before but we were eager to try it. Eculent did not disappoint. 26 courses with a lovely wine paring. Such an amazing experience! We got a tour of the food lab which was very cool and the meal was one incredible dish after another. From start to finish the whole experience lasted about two hours. Chef David is very friendly and answered all our questions. He wasn't afraid to go in-depth into how they made the dishes. This is by far the most expensive meal my wife and I have ever had, but it was totally worth it. It was a great secret surprise date and is the perfect gift for anyone who appreciates food or cooking. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity and I would recommend it to anyone who can appreciate the science and hard work that goes into crafting a unique meal.
